Precious Metal Pricing TEXT SIZE: A A A    PRINT THIS PAGE   EMAIL THIS PAGE

Learn how precious metal pricing affects the cost of your electrode.

In the marketplace of precious metals, there are 4 metals which are considered "precious metal market fundamentals".  These metals include Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Palladium.  We at VLC routinely use three of these four metal types in the construction of our electrodes. These three types being Silver, Gold, and Platinum.  Every single electrode we manufacture contains at least one of these precious metal types.

In a free market system, the pricing for these precious metals often fluctuates. Take platinum, for example. Over the past 5 years, the pricing for platinum has fluctuated from its lowest cost of $774.00/oz to its highest cost of $2252.00/oz*. Obviously, these fluctuations affect our cost of building our electrodes.

In addition to providing a superior product, VLC also takes pride in the fact that we have had to increase our pricing only once in the past 8 years!
